About
Grow It Yourself

Established in 2008, GIY empowers individuals globally to lead healthier and more sustainable lives by growing some of their own food.

Operating as a non-profit social enterprise in Ireland, UK, and USA from Waterford, GIY has a global presence through partnerships, media, and advocacy. Here at brightlight, we've had the pleasure of working with GIY on a number of marketing campaigns including a collaboration with Super Valu

Super Valu - Let's Grow

We were delighted to be tasked with the video production for SuperValu Let's Grow. In this production, we interviewed GIY Founder, Michael Kelly and SuperValu Managing Director, Ian Allen on site at GIY Waterford. The aim behind this video was to educate and inform viewers about the "Let's Grow" initiatives and how they can register. Through ‘SuperValu Let’s GROW’, classrooms will be provided with the tools for food growing and food literacy education.

The ‘SuperValu Let’s GROW’ pack provides schools with everything they need to start growing their own vegetables, including packs of seeds, compost discs and pots for growing, as well as teacher resource packs with curriculum-linked lesson plans and activities. All in all, we were delighted to play a small part in this wonderful campaign, albeit just producing the promotional video content.

Wasted Supper Club Event
at GIY Waterford

We were delighted to produce a brief video for GIY's Wasted Supper Club Event, aligning with their mission to educate and inspire individuals about food and food sustainability.

Our objective was to authentically portray the atmosphere and essence of the inaugural GIY Wasted Supper Club Event . We outlined the shots essential for capturing the day's highlights and seamlessly crafted a narrative to convey the event's story.
